Over 80 volunteers, including enthusiastic students from Sayyidina Umar Al-Khattab and Awang Semaun Secondary Schools, demonstrated strong community spirit at a Jerudong Beach cleanup on November 10th, 2023. Organized by The Beach Bunch as part of the #TeamSeas campaign and supported by Sivli Sdn Bhd and Validus Enterprise, the group successfully collected 500kg of rubbish, making a significant impact on the coastline's cleanliness.

The event was a valuable experience, especially for the students. Teacher Aishma Murni from Sayyidina Umar Al-Khattab Secondary School shared, "The students enjoyed it as it was a new experience for them. It is also a way for us to give back to the community by cleaning up. For many of us, it was a new adventure." She added, "It is a way to bond with students and other volunteers, and a great stress reliever after being cooped up in the classroom since January. After all, learning is not confined only within the four walls."   

The participants' commitment impressed supporters. Sivli Sdn Bhd Managing Director, Goo Han Leong, remarked, "Dedication to environmental protection is truly inspiring. It’s a testament to their understanding of the nation’s aspiration in cleanliness."   

This collaborative cleanup effectively combined significant environmental action with community engagement and practical learning, showcasing a shared commitment to preserving Brunei's natural environment.
