Multi-agency collaboration at Jerudong beach

Beach Bunch

28 Oct 2024

Jerudong Beach saw a major cleanup operation on October 28th, 2024, thanks to a collaborative effort between The Beach Bunch, Majlis Perundingan Kampung (MPK) Jerudong A, and the Brunei-Muara District Office. The joint initiative targeted a significant accumulation of waste impacting the coastal area.

The teams worked intensively, successfully hauling away a notable 200kg of vendor-related rubbish. In addition to this weighed waste, the cleanup also addressed larger debris, removing large quantities of discarded old tires and abandoned boat trailers that had been left on the beach.

The scale of the operation highlighted the effectiveness of collaboration between non-governmental organisations and government agencies in addressing environmental challenges.

This combined effort resulted in a substantial improvement to the cleanliness and safety of Jerudong Beach, removing unsightly and potentially hazardous materials. The Beach Bunch, MPK Jerudong A, and the Brunei-Muara District Office demonstrated strong commitment to preserving Brunei's coastal environment through this impactful joint action.
